Holger Knaack, member of Rotary Club Herzogtum Lauenburg-Mölln in District 1940 and next years Rotary International President, the first ever German Rotary International President, welcomes the new year 2020 with a New Year’s speech. He thanks all those who made the Rotary International Convention in Hamburg in June a great success. It is the encounters with special people who share the same values all over the world that make Rotary so special, he says. He calls on all Rotarians to attend regional Rotary events and promises much inspiration, as Rotary “offers so much”.
For the coming year, he wishes all Rotarians around the world, among other things, peace and goodwill. All of this in the spirit of the new Vision Statement of Rotary: „Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”
Holger Knaack, Mitglied des Rotary Clubs Herzgotum Lauenburg-Mölln im Distrikt 1940 und im nächsten Jahr der erste deutsche Rotary International Präsident, begrüßt das neue Jahr 2020 mit einer Neujahrsansprache. Er bedankt sich bei allen, die die Rotary International Convention im Juni in Hamburg zu einem großen Erfolg werden ließen. Es sind die Begegnungen mit besonderen Menschen, die überall auf der Welt dieselben Werte teilen und die Rotary ausmachen, sagt er. Er ruft alle Rotarierinnen und Rotarier dazu auf, regionale rotarische Veranstaltungen zu besuchen und verspricht viel Inspiration, da Rotary “so viel biete”.
Für das kommende Jahr wünscht er allen Rotarierinnen und Rotariern weltweit unter anderem ein friedvolles Miteinander und gemeinsames Wirken. Das Ganze im Sinne des neuen Vision Statements von Rotary: „Wir sehen eine Welt, in der Menschen gemeinsam beginnen, nachhaltige Veränderungen zu schaffen – in allen Ländern, in unserer Nachbarschaft und bei uns selbst“.
